Gilson Performer III model is compact and quiet, for efficient dry powder separations of small samples ranging from No.4 to No. 635 (4.75mm-20µm). These 3in Sieve Shakers are especially effective for dry chemicals, minerals, pharmaceuticals, powdered metals, cosmetics, abrasives, ores, foods and other fine powders. Small size and portability means the SS-3 is easy to set up in areas near process operations or for remote QC/QA applications.
High frequency 3,600vpm electromagnetic vibratory action with 0-100% amplitude control is ideal for fine particle separations. In-line solenoid actuated tapping action works at 60 taps per minute during sieving to redistribute the sample on the sieves and break static blinding, helping to clear undersize particles from mesh openings rapidly. Tapping function can also be used independently for tap-settling and tap-density functions.
SS-3 units accept either seven full-height 3in (76mm) metal sieves plus pan or fourteen acrylic frame sieves and pan. Exclusive Gilson EZ Clamp system offers seamless insertion and removal of sieve stacks while keeping the top cover secure at a fixed height. Captive knobs need just the push of a button and a quick twist to secure the stack. Variable control for vibration and a manual/timed mode switch with digital countdown timer controls operation to 99min., 59 secs. The pause function allows the cycle to be suspended and resumed with no loss of test time, and a five-second audible alarm sounds at completion of the interval. The controller is simple to program and the large, bright 0.5in (126mm) LED display is easy to read.
