Gilson Binder Ignition System and the Thermolyne® NCAT Furnace are designed to accurately determine the asphalt content in hot-mix asphalt samples for Mix Design Testing of Asphalt. Both Ignition Furnaces meet ASTM D6307 and AASHTO T 308 requirements.
Gilson Rolling Thin Film Oven (RTFO) – This innovative model has some programmable features, and simulates short-term aging of asphalt binder materials as required in ASTM D2872 and AASHTO T 240. Maximum temperature capacity is 392°F (200°C). A built-in platinum RTD sensor assures uniform temperature to ±1°C. Simplified controls require minimal training to operate.
ATS Rolling Thin Film Oven – Used to measure the aging effect of heat and air on a moving film of asphalt binder, the ATS RTFO also has some programmable features, and a touch screen controller with guided menus for customizable operation. Its temperature range is 200°F (93°C) to 392°F (200°C) maximum, and has over-termperature protection. The unit is doubled-walled with stainless steel exterior. Meets ASTM D2872 and AASHTO T 240 specifications.
