Fritsch Premium Planetary Mill

Fritsch Premium Planetary Mill is an all-purpose mill that produces ultrafine milling with a powerful 2.2kW drive motor that achieves rotational speeds of 100–800rpm and a high centrifugal acceleration of up to 64 times gravitational force. This mill has a maximum feed size of 10mm, a typical milling time of only three minutes, and a sample quantity of 40–450mL, making it ideal for milling large quantities of hard, medium-hard, soft, brittle, and moist samples. Final fineness is <0.1µm depending on material.

FT-50 has two grinding stations. After inserting a grinding bowl, move the grinding station at the press of a button to insert the next bowl. An LED light will indicate the bowl has been properly inserted and clamped. The clamping process is identical for each test, ensuring repeatable results and safe operation. Once bowls are inserted, press “Close” on the touchscreen to close the grinding chamber. ServoLOCK feature enhances safety by gradually opening after testing to release pressure and preventing the bowl from being removed until temperature and pressure have been lowered.

High-resolution touchscreen with easy navigation stores up to ten sample programs to ensure consistent test routines such as rotational speed, pause times, and reverse modes. Testing parameters such as speed, pause, cycle, and timer can be exported via USB.

Grinding Bowls and Grinding Balls are required for operation and purchased separately. Multi-station mills should be operated with balanced loads. Bowls, balls, and sample volume should be consistent at each grinding station. It is recommended that fine sand material, such as play sand, be placed inside the jar of equal total mass and used as a counterweight.

Many accessories are available with the Fritsch Premium Planetary Mill to accommodate specific grinding needs. A Counterweight can be added to use a single grinding bowl of any size. A Platform Adapter is needed if only one 125–150mL bowl is used, purchased separately. A Stacking Ring allows multiple samples to be stacked on top of one another and milled simultaneously.
