Desiccant Cartridges and Bags

Desiccant Cartridges and Bags are used with 6, 8 or 10in (152, 203 or 254mm) Desiccators for drying and stabilizing moisture-sensitive samples. The cartridges and bags contain noncorrosive and nontoxic silica gel. Both models can be reused by regenerating them after they become fully saturated with moisture, without concern for degradation.

MA-180 Desiccant Cartridge is for 6in Desiccators, contains 40g of silica gel desiccant, and has a 2.84in (72mm) diameter. The cartridge is composed of clear polypropylene to allow instant visual inspection of the silica gel, which changes color from blue to pink after absorbing moisture. Cartridges can be regenerated by placing them in a 122°F (50°C) oven overnight or in a 212°F (100°C) oven for 6 hours.

MA-181R Desiccant Bag is a durable, perforated bag containing 200g of indicating silica gel that can be used with 8in Desiccators. A transparent window shows the beads, which are blue when dry and pink when moist. The beads can be reactivated repeatedly in a 200°F–250°F (93°C–121°C) oven.

MA-183 Desiccant Bag is used with 10in Desiccators, contains 500g of silica gel desiccant, and measures 8.25x6x2in (210x150x50mm), LxWxH. The bag is constructed of durable microfiber containing silica beads to eliminate the risk of leakage and is unaffected by moisture. Bags have an indicator dot on the side of the pouch that changes from blue to pink when saturated and can be regenerated by microwaving for six minutes.
