The concrete slump test measures workability and reflects the approximate water/cement ratio of fresh concrete. Gilson’s collection of Slump Test Sets bring together the most useful components for performing this basic field test for acceptance and workability while maintaining strict compliance with ASTM C143 and AASHTO T 119.
User places the mold on the cast aluminum Base Plate or a flat, level surface and uses a scoop to fill the mold with even layers of concrete. A tamping rod is used to uniformly consolidate and distribute the specimen and strike off any excess concrete. The cone is raised up in a steady, motion, and the vertical displacement of the concrete is measured.
