U.S. Congress Passes Two-Year Transportation Budget

The Senate recently approved a $55.3 billion appropriations bill to fund the Department of Transportation over the next two years, an increase of $1.5 billion over the previous year. The new bill also avoids a government shutdown and prevents defaulting on loans. The National Stone, Sand and Gravel Association has praised passage of the bill, saying it promotes additional investments in transportation infrastructure.
